The family computer shopping and games exhibition, “Shopper@COMDEX” will be held at the Jeddah Exhibition Center for the second time and this year the show has doubled in size.

Some 100 stands will display, and sell on the spot, the products of over 400 international companies — with strong emphasis on educational and cultural programs, as well as the latest versions of ever-popular games, consoles and multimedia.

Major exhibitors include the large Egyptian Pavilion, which is strongly software focused, plus well-known regional hardware and software retailers such as CompuMe, CompuBase, Al-Maalim, MEE Megastar, Arasoft, Hit-Tech, CompuBusiness, Al-Turath, Hoshan Pan Gulf, Cresentech, Al-Alamiah-Sakhr and many others. Microsoft and Kodak will also take prominent stands in support of their brands.

“Shopper@COMDEX” is held specifically for family and public visitors alongside the professional COMDEX Saudi Arabia IT exhibition, which is open only to business, trade and government attendees. This year both events run from April 16-19.

The “Shopper@COMDEX” show, following its success last year takes place in a new, separate hall from COMDEX itself — providing exhibitors and visitors alike with more comfortable surroundings and more exhibit area. The entire prefabricated building, covering some 2,000 square meters, has been made-to-order in Belgium and imported by Saudi hospitality specialists Al-Mahfal.

“We have made special show hours to suit family visitors,” said Annick Anthierens, COMDEX General Manager. “This special IT shopping show will open in the morning from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and then again in the evening from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. With a new and larger building and better hours we know that ‘Shopper@COMDEX’ will offer a really good morning or evening out to local families and friends.”

COMDEX Saudi Arabia and “Shopper@COMDEX” are organized by the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry in partnership with Key3Media Event Inc. of the United States and Dabbagh Information Technology Group of the UAE.
