DHAHRAN, 10 April  — King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals will, for the first time, hold a short course on analysis and design of structures using STAAD-III, Release 23. The four-day course will take place at the university’s campus from May 6 to 9. Dr. Omar Baghabra Al-Amoudi, administrative coordinator, department of civil engineering KFUPM, said that STAAD-III is a popular user-friendly software package for analysis and design of reinforced concrete and steel structure. “It has powerful graphic interface for visualization of structure geometry, deformations, forces and design details,” he said The course is targeting structural engineers in the private and governmental sectors involved in the analysis, design and assessment.
