JEDDAH, 1 May — Israel has taken into custody eight ambulances donated by the Kingdom to Palestine, said Mustafa Deeb, Palestine’s ambassador to the Kingdom, yesterday. Israel’s action comes in the wake of its severe measures to quell the intifada in the occupied territories. Israel has been withholding clearance of all goods donated to Palestine by countries with which it does not have diplomatic relations. In all, Saudi Arabia has sent 30 ambulances to Palestine recently. According to Deeb, the Kingdom remitted on Sunday $15 million to the Palestinian Authority.
