JEDDAH, 2 May — Leading poets will be accorded a warm reception on their arrival tonight from Pakistan for a grand mushaira (poetic session) being organized at the Saudi German Hospital auditorium at 9.15 p.m. tomorrow. Arriving by Pakistan International’s PK 731 flight at 8.30 p.m. today are well-known poet Ahmad Faraz, who is presiding over the event — Mushaira Jashne Pakistan, along with other leading poets — Zafar Iqbal, Amjad Islam Amjad, Pirzada Qasim, Aetbar Sajid and Safdar Shahid, according to a spokesman for the organizers, Pakistan Social and Cultural Organization. Saudia’s Pakistan office gets awards
JEDDAH, 2 May —The Pakistan office of the Saudi Arabian Airlines has been given awards for outstanding performance by Khalid ibn Bakr, the director general of the airlines. Islamabad station got the award for passenger and cargo handling while the Lahore station was awarded for passenger handling. The awards were given during the 16th Sales Conference held here recently. The credit of the achievement goes to Ali Al-Mowalled, the country manager of the airlines and members of his sales team. The awards were received by Manager Sales and Marketing, Pakistan, Iftikharul Haq Khan and Manager, Sales and Marketing, Lahore, Tariq Khan.
