JEDDAH, 5 May — The Saudi Telecom Company will soon launch an automatic customer service for mobile phone users, press reports said yesterday. On dialing 902, customers will be informed mechanically of the amount and due date of their phone bills, date of disconnection and any change in the service. The system allows the mobile phone user to access personal data about him without assistance from the telecom personnel, Al-Jazira newspaper said. There are more than 1,870,000 mobile phone users in the Kingdom at present. Of this 385,000 are subscribers to the family mobiles. The company recently slashed connection charges for mobile telephones from SR1,500 to SR800 and for family mobiles from SR500 to SR400.
