KARACHI — The Pakistan Muslim League of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has spurned an offer by Pir Pagara to attend a meeting in Lahore next week aimed at unifying various factions of the party. Pagara had invited leaders of all factions of the PML in a bid to bridge their differences and find out a way to unite the groups. The PML which is headed by Sharif spurned the offer saying Sharif was the only leader of the party and other breakaway factions had no legal authority. The PML has been divided into three factions — one led by Sharif, the other by Mian Azhar and the third by Hamid Nasir Chattha. “Anyone willing to join the PML or keen to end the row in the party should join the PML and accept Sharif as leader,” a leader of Sharif’s PML said.
