JEDDAH, 28 May — Scores of Filipino civil engineering graduates who are working in the Kingdom are set to take the first licensure test to be held outside the Philippines.
Officials of the Manila-based Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will administer the examination in Jeddah on July 5 and 6 in cooperation with the Association of Filipino Civil Engineers - KSA and the Philippine Consulate General.
AFCE spokesman Gamie P. Mapandi said the group has decided to keep the registration open until June 27 to accommodate those from faraway places in the Kingdom who have failed to catch up with the deadlines set previously.
Review classes being conducted by AFCE leaders will also end on June 27.
“Once again, we call on those who have yet to register or complete their registration to do so now so as not to waste this rare opportunity of taking the exam right in their work place,” said Mapandi.
AFCE president Romulo Bani earlier said the organization has arranged with the PRC to conduct the test in the Kingdom to make life easier for Filipino civil engineering graduates who have yet to get their license.
Bani said individuals concerned can always go home and take the test but that could be costlier and it would even entail a leave of absence from their jobs.
