RIYADH, 1 June — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd will formally open the third four-year session of the Shoura Council this week. The king will also make the government’s policy speech on the occasion. Chairman of the Council Sheikh Muhammad ibn Jubair will address the council briefly outlining the past achievements of the council. The chairman, deputy chairman, secretary-general and 120 members will take their oath of office before that.  In the first sitting on Tuesday, various subcommittee heads, their deputies and committee members will be appointed. The general controlling authority of the council, comprising the chairman and the heads of subcommittees will also be set up in this meeting. Muhammad ibn Jubair visited the facilities and the offices at the council building to guarantee that the premises are geared up to welcome the members of the third Shoura which has increased its membership.
