JEDDAH, 1 June — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, received a cable from the noted Hamas resistance movement leader Khaled Mishaal, chief of Hamas’ political office said commending the Kingdom’s stand in the Palestinian struggle against Israel, reported Al-Riyadh newspaper yesterday.
The leader of the Islamic resistance movement also praised Prince Abdullah for his personal stand on the issue. “Personally and on behalf of my brothers in the Islamic resistance movement, I repeat my thanks and appreciation to you on the Kingdom’s stance, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, by offering continuous support to the issue of the Palestinian people, intifada and the resistance against the Zionist occupier,” Mishaal said in his message.
The Hamas leader continued, “We express our appreciation and pride over your unmatched noble stand particularly in your (refusal to) visit the United States because of its bias toward the Zionist enemy who has been violating the basic rights of the Palestinian people.
“By adopting such a distinguished stand, you have set the model for an Arab Muslim leader defending the Ummah’s rights, holy sites and their interests, particularly at such a difficult time in the history of our nation and its struggle against the Zionist enemy.”
Publishing the full text of the message, Al-Riyadh newspaper said the cable reflected the harmony between the standpoints of a people who have been fighting an enemy with unprecedented courage to defend their honor and legitimate rights, and our great leader, who is well-known throughout the Arab world for his loyalty to the Muslim and Arab cause.
