JEDDAH, 4 June — Karnataka Housing Minister Qamarul Islam has welcomed a housing proposal from Indian Doctors Engineers and Architects Society (IDEAS), Jeddah chapter. “I appreciate your proposal to build a joint venture housing project for overseas Indian workers at Bangalore,” the minister said at a reception hosted by Khaja Anwar, founder director of IDEAS-Gulf recently. The minister assured that he would refer the domicile issue raised by the organization with the chief ministers of respective states. The organization contends that the issue of domicile is affecting the prospects of children of Gulf Indians who seek admission in India.“This issue will be tackled with proper and consistent representation both at the state and central government levels,” Islam said and hoped that the proposed website of IDEAS (www.ideas-gulf.com) would serve its purpose of serving the community.
