RIYADH, 8 January — Two students of King Khaled Military College here were killed and two others were seriously injured in a road accident near Artawiyah town on Wednesday. The four students were returning to attend classes after spending Eid holidays in their home town of Sakaka, according to Al-Riyadh newspaper which reported the accident yesterday.

The accident occurred when the car they were traveling in collided head-on with another vehicle coming in the opposite direction Wednesday morning. The injured were taken to the Artawiyah General Hospital, the paper said.

In an accident in Abha on Friday, a man died and four others were seriously injured when their car collided with a fuel tanker, according to Al-Jazirah newspaper said yesterday. The civil defense officers worked for more than one hour to rescue the injured and remove the dead bodies from the mangled remains of the car after it was run over by the tanker. The injured were admitted to the Asir Central Hospital. The tanker driver escaped unhurt.

Eyewitnesses said the car was coming at a high-speed when it collided with the tanker slowly entered from a side road on to the King Abdul Aziz Ring Road.

In yet another road accident reported yesterday, an elderly Afghan died after he was knocked down by a speeding Lexus in Jubail. The old man was riding a bicycle when he was hit by the car which then ran over him, Al-Bilad newspaper said yesterday. (A.N.)
