MAKKAH, 10 January — The Ministry of Commerce has appointed 260 new field officers to intensify inspections of food and commercial stores in Makkah and holy ritual sites during this year's Haj, said Abdul Rahmah Al-Aqla, acting secretary of the Central Haj Committee which met here yesterday. He said the number of outlets for food and other essential goods would be increased in the holy sites. Meanwhile, the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques decided to employ 2,300 workers and inspectors for services in the Haram Mosque during the Haj season. Over 2,880 cleaning workers will also be appointed. (Abdul Azeez Al-Ghazawi)
