JEDDAH, 16 June — An official source yesterday denied as “totally baseless” a Kuwaiti press report, which said Syria had expressed reservations on a Saudi proposal to pump oil through the Tapline that passes through Jordan, Syria and Lebanon after some modifications to it.

Kuwait’s Al-Rae Al-Aam daily had reported that the proposal to use Tapline in place the Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline which is currently being used, was made during the recent meeting between Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, and President Bashar Al-Assad. (SPA)
