RIYADH, 23 January — More than 8,650 beggars have been arrested by the anti-beggary department in the last two months Kingdomwide, according to a statistical report presented by the undersecretary for social affairs to Ali Al-Namlah, minister of labor and social affairs. The report said 1,807 of the arrested beggars were Saudis. It said 457 of the Saudi beggars were men, 782 women, 228 boys and 340 girls. Out of the 6,850 expatriate beggars 3,840 were men, 1,747 women, 713 boys and 550 girls. (SPA)
