RIYADH, 24 January — Crown Prince Abdullah, deputy premier and commander of the National Guard, will open the Kingdom Hospital, the Kingdom City and the Kingdom Schools at a colorful ceremony here today. The projects were set up by the Kingdom Holding Company at a total cost of SR1.7 billion.
Prince Alwaleed ibn Talal, the chairman of the board of directors of the company, has invited princes, ministers, officials, businessmen and parents of the students at the Kingdom Schools to attend the ceremony. He said the crown prince's participation in the opening of the projects was a great honor for the company.
The Kingdom Holding Company, in collaboration with a number of Saudi businessmen, has established four projects in the fields of health, housing and education in northern Riyadh, transforming the region into a modern residential city with world-class facilities.
The 170-bed Kingdom Hospital is considered one of the modern private hospitals in the country. It was established at a cost of SR400 million. According to a press statement issued by the company, the hospital will apply the most modern medical techniques that are used in the United States and Europe. It will also have a group of elite local and international doctors.
The Kingdom City is located on the extension of Takhassusy Street, east of the Kingdom Hospital. It comprises 330 villas and apartments with all modern utilities. The project highlights the country's architectural heritage. The Al-Rabie Quarter has all the characteristics that will attract those who search for unique real estate investment in a modern environment.
The Kingdom Schools, initiated by Prince Alwaleed, aims to build a remarkable institution that will prepare a generation capable scientifically and intellectually to meet modern development requirements of the country.
The company said the Kingdom Hospital would be managed and operated by Allied Medical International, one of the leading companies specialized in the field. The hospital has special departments for family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, maternity and naturopathy.
Referring to the residential city, the company said its housing units, distinguished for their beautiful internal decoration, are linked with a central air-conditioning system and separate gardens. The project also includes a football ground, a basketball court, tennis court, swimming pools, and facilities for other games.
The Kingdom Schools are built on an area of 140,000 square meters north of the city. The school is designed to accommodate 4,000 students and provide education from kindergarten to secondary levels. It has two general libraries with a large number of books in both Arabic and English and has a large conference hall.
