MADINAH, 25 January — Three foreigners were arrested at a checkpoint while attempting to slip through using a forged military ID card, according to an official source here.

The trio stayed in the holy city for the last three months until they were finally caught by security officials on the Madinah-Yanbu highway. They dressed in Saudi-style clothes in order to evade officials at various checkpoints.

One of the three attempted to deceive the security officials who arrested him, claiming that he was one of their colleagues. He produced a Saudi military identity card showing his military rank. His two accomplices carried identity cards issued in their country. The man confessed that he had used the forged card to gain entry into the Kingdom through a border crossing.

According to security officials this is just the latest method invented by illegal aliens to win the confidence of the officials and escape arrest. The man also had with him several of photos of himself in military uniform, said the source.

In another raid by the Passport officials in Jauf, 10 Bangladeshis, who entered the country using stolen visas from the Kingdom's embassy in Dhaka, were arrested. The officials are currently investigating the circumstances under which the arrested foreigners obtained the visa and whether any other persons were involved in the criminal act.

The embassy in Dhaka had warned the Passport Authority about the misuse of the stolen visa together with their serial numbers and other details.

The anti-forgery division in the Passports Authority is currently investigating the incident which could be linked with illegal trading in visa in Bangladesh.
