JEDDAH, 26 January — A body of a dead female was discovered in a garbage container in Al-Montazahat district in Jeddah on Wednesday at 3 a.m.

The garbage collectors noticed an unusually large bag while emptying the container. Upon opening the bag, they found a naked female body and subsequently called the police. Investigations proved that the woman was a twenty year old Indonesian.

Sources at the Indonesian Consulate in Jeddah confirmed to Arab News that they had not received any information or reports on this incident.

Al-Montazahat neighborhood, south of Jeddah, woke up to the news of the tragedy and exchanged views on the event. Many said that the woman was a maid who ran away months ago from her sponsors. The fleeing from employers is a common phenomenon among many housemaids.

In another development in the city, a Saudi's two cars were burned to ashes during several attempts to burn down his house in Al-Samir district. The police are looking for three unidentified suspects. Sarhan Al-Anazi's van was set on fire two weeks ago. Two days later his other car also met with the same fate.

The shed next to his house was also gutted the next day. In the following days, flames appeared on the curtains of the living room, saloon and bathrooms which were extinguished by the civil defense department. Again, the culprits appeared on Saturday when three men clad in black attempted to force their way into the house when Al-Anazi's wife opened the front door. The three unidentified men fled when she cried for help. Investigations are under way the police sources said.

Meanwhile, Taif police said the accused ripper arrested in Taif on Wednesday was a mentally-deranged Saudi watchman. He had earlier stabbed four people without any apparent motive or provocation. His latest victim, a Yemeni, is in hospital in a critical state.
