RIYADH, 28 January — A committee set up by Commerce Minister Osama Faqeeh to study the plan for recalling technically-faulty tires has laid down several conditions to ensure road safety in the Kingdom. The conditions specify that tire manufacturing companies should supply a letter of guarantee that the tire is of high quality and strictly tested for Saudi road conditions. The company and the agency should also follow the performance of their products in the market. They products must be stored in compliance with the specifications fixed by Saudi authorities. Destroying the faulty tires or returning them to the manufacturer is also proposed. (SPA)
