RIYADH, 1 February — The publication division of the King Fahd National Library recently released an index of Arabic works published in the Indian subcontinent since 1550 to 1980. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Institute of Arabic manuscripts, a subsidiary of the Arab League. The work, in 618 pages, makes a detailed survey of the role of the subcontinent in the service of Arabic language and Islamic literature for over 400 years. (SPA)
