RIYADH, 8 February — President Vaclav Havel of the Czech Republic will arrive here on Saturday for a two-day state visit at the invitation of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd.

Czech Ambassador Vaclav Frybert said the 60-member presidential delegation would include ministers, businessmen and journalists.  Saudi Arabia is the first leg of Havel’s six-day Gulf tour that will also take him to Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

“I see the visit as a logical culmination of the positive development of relations between the two countries in recent years,” the envoy said.

Havel will discuss with the Saudi leaders the Middle East situation and other issues of international concern.— Javid Hassan
