QASSIM, 17 February — A UAE military plane crashed near Qassim airport yesterday afternoon but its two crew members escaped serious injuries, an official source at the Ministry of Defense and Aviation said. The aircraft was returning to the United Arab Emirates from Jordan after taking part in a joint military exercise. The plane crashed at 1.15 p.m. while approaching Qassim airport for a refueling stopover. Pilot Brig. Sami Al-Noaimi and his assistant Abdullah Al-Shaamsy were given treatment as per the directives of Qassim Governor Prince Faisal ibn Bandar, the official said. (SPA)
