RIYADH, 1 July — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd has approved a decision by the Higher Education Council to transform the department for languages and translation at the Faculty of Arabic Language at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh into an independent faculty. It will be named the Faculty of Languages and Translation, Higher Education Minister Dr. Khaled Al-Anqari said yesterday. He said the move aimed at training Saudis for translation jobs.
