ISLAMABAD, 6 July — Former Ehtesab (Accountability) Bureau Chairman Saifur Rahman confirmed yesterday that all major assets of the family, including their home, have been put on sale to repay the debt so that they secure release from jail and save the textile mills. “In the textile mills debt default case, they are demanding of us to repay debt with multiple mark-up, though that is against the state and other banking laws. But for the sake of saving our textile mills, where several hundred people are employed, and to secure a chance of our release, we have decided to put on sale our family silver,” said Rahman as quoted by her mother who met his son yesterday.
