RIYADH, 10 July — A responsible Saudi source yesterday denied reports that Saudi authorities had mistreated and arrested some Iraqi refugees at Refha camp, northwest of the Kingdom. Speaking to Arab News, Maj. Gen. Atiyya Al-Towry, director of the affairs of joint forces and refugees at the Defense Ministry, said the situation at the camp was stable and that no arrest or torture of refugees had taken place. He said Saudi authorities had provided the refugees with all facilities including food and medical and educational services. Saudi Arabia has spent more than $800 million to host the refugees at the Refha camp over the past 10 years. —Hasin Al-Binayyan
