JEDDAH, 23 July — Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who met here yesterday with Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd, said he would seek Saudi support for an Arab mini-summit on the Middle East conflict, the Saudi Press Agency said.
“I came to continue the consultations and subsequently we will decide whether it should be a mini or full-scale Arab summit in the light of our talks with King Fahd and Crown Prince Abdullah,” SPA quoted Arafat as saying on arrival.
During their meeting at Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, King Fahd and Arafat held talks on bilateral relations, the latest situation in Palestine and major Arab and international issues, SPA said.
Arafat, who arrived here from Jordan with International Cooperation Minister Nabil Shaath and chief peace negotiator Saeb Erakat, praised Saudi Arabia’s support for Palestinians.
