JEDDAH, 25 July — A training course for Muslim youths began in Brussels, Belgium, with 80 youths from various parts of the country taking part.
The event was part of the summer camp held by the Muslim Assembly of World Youth (WAMY) in cooperation with local Islamic societies, said Dr. Saleh ibn Sulaiman Al-Wehaibi, WAMY’s assistant secretary-general for technical affairs.
The youths will attend lectures and religious lessons given by prominent Muslim scholars and join panel discussions on various topics.
“The camp is aimed at educating Muslim youths on Islamic morals and values and arm them with necessary tools that will help them lead a healthy and useful life beneficial to their local communities and nation,” he said.
And another objective of the camp is to prepare qualified preachers to take over dawa activities in Europe,” Al-Wehaibi said in a press statement.
The WAMY will hold another Islamic course in Italy for 150 participants from various parts of the European country. Al-Wehaibi said the course in the Ancona city will be held from Aug. 6 to 16. He said the program will also include visits to Islamic centers and societies in Italy. Al-Wehaibi highlighted his organization’s efforts to spread the message of Islam. (AN)
