CAIRO, 27 July  — Industry and Electricity Minister Dr. Hashem Yamani yesterday hinted at plans to link Saudi Arabia and Yemen with a power grid. Addressing a meeting of the executive office for Arab electricity ministers, he said the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development has completed a technical study on the Saudi-Yemeni grid. He said the project to link Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Turkey with a power grid was progressing well. On linking with Maghreb, he said Egypt and Libya were linked in 1998 while the plan to connect Libya with Tunisia will be completed this year. (SPA)
