JEDDAH, 29 July — A young girl was killed and her mother and three brothers were seriously injured in a road accident on the highway between Jeddah and Qunfuda yesterday.

The car carrying the Lebanese family crashed after ramming into a camel that strayed on to the highway, according to reports yesterday.

An ambulance rushed the injured to the Qunfuda General Hospital where they were given first aid. They were later transferred to the Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah by air.

Communication between the emergency wing of SGH and the Air Ambulances helped in the urgent evacuation of the injured by the Air Rescue Team from Qunfuda.

On arrival in Jeddah, the SGH ambulances and medical team received them for treatment. “The condition of the mother and her three sons is improving fast,” an SGH spokesman told Arab News. — K.S. Ramkumar
