JEDDAH, 25 July — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd yesterday received cables of condolences on the death of Prince Ahmad ibn Salman on Monday from a number of world leaders.
They included messages from Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah, Kuwait’s Crown Prince and Premier Sheikh Sa’ad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah, Bahrain’s Premier Sheikh Khalifa ibn Salman Al-Khalifa, and Minister of Information and Culture of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah ibn Zaid Al-Nahayan.
King Fahd thanked them for their noble feelings. He also sent a message of condolence to Prince Faisal ibn Turki Al-Saud on the death of his son Prince Sultan ibn Faisal on Tuesday.
Prince Abdullah, the regent, also received cables of condolences from a number of Gulf and Arab leaders and dignitaries.
Riyadh Governor Prince Salman received messages of condolences from Spain’s King Juan Carlos, Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, Sultan Qaboos of Oman and Eritrian President Asiais Afeworki.
Those who personally met Prince Salman to offer their condolences included Jordan’s Prince Hamzah ibn Al-Hussein, Prince Ghazi ibn Mohammed, Jordanian king’s adviser, Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak’s son Jamal Mubarak and Palestinian Minister of Planning and International Cooperation. (SPA)
