DAMMAM, 27 July — Saudi Aramco has completed more than 50 percent of its gas project in Haradh, 280 kms southwest of Dhahran, a press statement by the state-owned oil giant said, adding that the project was progressing well six weeks ahead of schedule.
Informed sources said the Haradh plant, which was scheduled to be operational by next year, will increase the supply of the company’s main gas network by 1.5 billion cubic feet daily, bringing the total supply to seven billion cubic feet daily.
The sources said the new plant was designed to treat 1.6 billion cubic feet of raw gas and extract 145,000 barrels of oil daily. The gas to be treated at the plant would be supplied from the new gas fields explored by the company in recent years. Haradh plant’s gas supply will meet the growing local requirements.
