ABC newly appointed Middle East correspondent, Mark Willacy, on one day reported differently. On Thursday, 1st August 2002, Mark Willacy reported to ABC current affairs morning program AM, that:

"Watching events unfold on his TV from his Gaza home, Hamas spokesman Abdul Aziz Rantissi warned that Israel was paying the price for last week's air strike which killed more than a dozen Palestinian, including nine children.

ABDUL AZIZ RANTISSI: We have to defend our kids. We should continue in our struggle to push the Israelis to withdraw. We said it clearly many times before. Enough is enough for occupation. Enough is enough for Israeli terror. Enough is enough."

At the same day, again Mark Willacy, ended his report to ABC current affairs evening program PM, saying that: "[Hamas aims is] getting the state of Israel out of Israel."

Interestingly, by visiting ABC Current Affairs web site www.abc.net.au/am you will find very little reporting on Israel/Palestine, most, if not all, of ABC reporting [mainly AM and PM] when there is a suicide bombing in occupied territories or inside Israel.

I cannot understand how Mark Willacy can report differently and contradict himself in the same day. Does that mean that Australians accept any news they hear from our publicly funded media, ABC?

Doesn't ABC value Australians minds? or they want us to accept any news they inject us with?

I born and lived in a third world country, according to the civilised West, I never had this experience in my life.

In words, ABC has no journalism professionalism or standards at least on Israel/Palestine.

ABC Chairman, Mr Donald McDonald, in his speech to the National Press Club on Wednesday, January 30, 2002, said that: A degree of criticism and restlessness among staff is a characteristic of a healthy organisation, especially one engaged in creative activities. We were bound to find some in the ABC. But the level of morale in the organisation is poor to the point where its effectiveness is reducedthis may be caused by inadequacies in the management systems. There is a gulf between (management and staff) which has almost become an ABC tradition. Mr McDonald speech can be found http://www2b.abc.net.au/publicrecord/npc/jan2002/

It seems to me that the problem is more than a gulf.

Again ABC, Australian deserve fair and balanced reporting ... simply because Australians taxpayers' who pay ABC budget ,$900 million, not Israelis/Zionist!!!

Let us see what ABC will report tomorrow about the latest bombing inside Israel.
