JEDDAH, 8 August — Three Saudi teenagers burned to death after their car rammed into an electric post on the King Street here on Monday. According to a Civil Defense Department source, it was difficult to identify the charred bodies.

The impact caused the fire, the source said, adding that fire fighters quickly put out the fire and extricated the bodies from the wreckage.

“Passerby did not try to save the youths trapped inside because of the intensity of the fire,” he said. The source identified the three, aged between 16 and 17, as Maher Talaat Othman Al-Nueman, Ashraf and Akram Hasan Ali Khedhr.

The civil defense official emphasized the need for all motorists to keep fire extinguishers inside their cars.

Meanwhile, a 55-year-old Saudi woman died and nine others in her family were injured in Bisha on Tuesday in a traffic accident while they were going to the southern region, Okaz reported. Four of the family members are in the intensive care unit.
