MAJMAAH, 11 August — One man was killed and 12 others were injured in a traffic accident on Majmaah-Al-Zulfi road when a bus and a Toyota Hilux pickup collided yesterday.
The accident occurred at 7.30 p.m. when a bus carrying five passengers hit the Toyota pick up which was carrying seven persons and a child. The driver of the pick up died on the spot, an informed source from the the Saudi Red Crescent Society in Majmaah told Arab News.
The injured passengers, some with minor injuries, were taken to nearby hospitals. " Six persons were taken to hospials in Majmaah and the rest were transferred to Al-Zulfi and Al-Ghaat," he added.
Teams from the Civil Defense, Saudi Red Crescent Society, traffic police and special forces of the Highway Security took part in the rescue operations.
