NORFOLK, Virginia, 15 August — A US federal judge yesterday rejected the government’s justification for denying the right of Yasser Hamdi, 21, a Saudi American who was arrested in Afghanistan last November and taken to Gauntanamo and later brought to the Norfolk naval base, to meet his attorney. The judge said he would soon issue orders allowing the plea of Hamdi’s father to let an attorney meet him.
