RIYADH, 18 August — Dr. Hamad Abdullah Al-Manie, director general of health in the Riyadh region, has sacked the medical director of Dawadmi General Hospital for negligence in carrying out his duties. The health department will question the fired medical director for the hospital’s poor performance. Al-Manie has also ordered that a number of doctors and pharmacists at Dawadmi and Afeef hospitals be investigated. He took the decisions following an inspection tour of the two hospitals as well as five health centers and a number of private pharmacies in the region. He also urged the authorities to investigate the medical director of Afeef Public Hospital. A number of pharmacists and doctors at the two hospitals will be questioned for not carrying proper license. — By Abdul Kareem Al-Zumaie
