RIYADH, 25 August — The Turkish Embassy in the Kingdom announced yesterday that Saudi citizens who wish to visit Turkey will need entry visas from Sept.1. In a press statement issued here yesterday, the embassy said that the new step was in conformity with such a requirement for the citizens of other Gulf states. “However, this step is prompted by the need to ensure conformity and coordination between the visa policy of Turkey and that of the member states of the European Union,” it said. “The Turkish Embassy in Riyadh and the Consulate General in Jeddah welcome Saudi citizens who would like to obtain visa for visiting Turkey. Henceforth, there will be no issuance of entry visas at the Turkish airports and borders,” the statement added. (SPA)
