RIYADH, 29 August — Prince Alwaleed ibn Talal yesterday became an honorary citizen of Cannes, France.

Mayor Bernard Brochand presented the honorary citizenship diploma to the prince aboard his yacht which is currently moored in Cannes. It was the 11th state recognition for the prince.

Previous recognitions included the medal of the presidency of the Italian republic, Jordan’s star decoration of the first order, Lebanon’s national cedar decoration of the commander order and national cedar medal, order of the grand officer, and gold medal of the city of Cannes, Korean diplomatic merit of the Heung-In medal, Palestinian Authority’ Bethlehem 2000 medal, Brunei’s the most esteemed royal family order, Saudi Arabia’s King Abdul Aziz medal of the first order for distinguished businessmen and Tunisia’s medal of the Tunisian republic of the first order.
