The Chief-of-Staff has declared that the "Palestinian threat" is a cancer in Israel’s body.
Appearing before a conference of rabbis, he practically appointed himself supreme leader, fixing the aims of the state and the means for their implementation. He spurned all the proposals current in the political arena and left only one course of action: breaking the Palestinian people.
Such an overbearing attitude of a military officer is the direct outcome of 35 years of occupation, which is slowly and systematically eroding our democracy.
The occupation is the cancer and it’s eating our body. If we don’t eliminate it, it will eliminate us.
