CAIRO, 7 September — Dr. Abdullah Al-Turki, secretary general of the Muslim World League (MWL), said Islamic organizations have been coordinating efforts and working to acquaint others with the problems faced by Muslims. In a statement to Cairo-based Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine, Dr. Turki said: “Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi was one of the prominent figures who criticized Islam after Sept. 11, but following his visit to the Islamic center in Rome and his meeting with Prince Mohammed ibn Nawaf, Saudi ambassador to Italy, he has changed his misconceptions about Islam.” (SPA)
