JEDDAH, 13 May 2003 — All hotels and commercial centers are now required to search cars and luggage to make sure there are no concealed explosives or weapons, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported yesterday.
Some hotels are using imported bomb detectors which cost about $80,000. Security companies are also carefully training their employees and supplying them with walkie-talkies so they can quickly report any suspicious activity to the police.
