COPENHAGEN, 20 May 2003 — A jet carrying Danish Foreign Minister Per Stig Moeller from Damascus to Riyadh yesterday turned back to Syria after a bomb threat, the Danish national news agency Ritzau said. The pilot of the Danish military Gulfstream jet decided to return to Damascus 20 minutes into the flight to Saudi Arabia after a written bomb threat was found on board the aircraft, the report said. A note with the words “Dead Head” written on it was found in an empty catering box as preparations were under way to serve a meal on board the aircraft, it said. The pilot regarded the note as threatening, and turned back to Damascus.
