JEDDAH, 23 May 2003 — The multiawarded Criz Villavelez and Hero Garcia scored a separate three game series scratch of 598 and 596 as the SkyFreight Forwarders bounced back to take the numero uno spot in the 10th week of the All Filipino Tenpin Bowling League (AFTBL) organized by the newly elected officers of the Filipino Tenpin Bowlers of Jeddah (FTBJ).
The SkyFreight Forwarders managed by its general manager Emy de Guzman compiled 52.5 points in the overall team standings pushing down the previous league leader, the Dove Bar team who dropped to third position.
Aside from Villavelez and Garcia, Danny de Guzman, Boy Ramos and Edu Toledo toppled a separate three game series scratch of 539, 500 and 457.
The OMO team keglers continued their winning streak to seal another victory to occupy the second topmost position. The OMO registered 38 points as of the 10th week of action. Fred Mangondato scored 573 series in three games to topscore in the OMO squad.
The Picpa Pro fired an overall total series handicap of 2,862 and got 33.5 points and showing the way was the versatile Benjie Domado who carded a three game series scratch of 579 (179, 204, 196). Newly crowned FTBJ classic champion, Jun Pilipina and Emil Payongayong rolled a big round to post a series scratch of 560 and 557 in three matches.
The Top Gun pinned down 31 points and topscoring was Rudy Valenzuela with 575 series scratch in three outings. The Saudi Pearl mentored by FTBJ President, Rene San Pedro, snatched 24 points and garnered an overall total team series handicap of 2,794 pinfalls.
Rene Martinez led Saudi Pearl with a three game series scratch of 581 (190, 200, 191). The veteran Boy Casio sparkled to score a series of 565 while the ever-fading Angel Decena and Rey Beltran scored a series of 538 and 507. Dante Calapatia downed 459 points.
Abet Sarte fired a convincing three game series scratch of 607 to be on top in the Libby’s Juice team keglers.
Nonie Yap and Rally Zamora shone too by posting a series of 567 and 560 while Larry Santos and Igna Salgado knocked-out a series of 486 and 466.
The Ay Sarap Team got 15.5 points and submitting the best series in three games was Danny Bautista with 533. Roger Daquioag and Ador Torres toppled 529 and 502 while Mixi Lechuga and Benjie Cils had a series of 499 and 471.
The Gandour Yamama and the Showtime team keglers collected an identical 14 points and the leading scorers in the Gandour Yamama was Fred Monzon (579), followed by Liny Suriaga (555), Jess Escondo (480), Jerriel Cacao (463) and Leo Pangilinan (461). Dads Gueco was on top for Showtime with a series of 514 with the next best output from Alex Flora (506).
Ed Labuac and Danny Manriza scored an identical series of 467 in three matches.
