RIYADH, 25 May 2003 — The OFW Investors Society (Ofwins) will conduct a seminar on Business Strategy for Small Enterprises on May 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon at the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh. The seminar will highlight the types of businesses or industries in the Philippine setting, which have the best chances of success for OFWs.

For those who have existing small businesses, the seminar will highlight ways of acquiring competitive edge by changing the rules of engagement to one’s advantage, a method so successfully applied by Japanese companies in their drive for global dominance.

Ofwins is a Riyadh-based ACP group involved in reintegration program through investment literacy. Founded in year 2000, the group has been a partner in the “community outreach” program of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) in Riyadh and Alkhobar, where it conducts investment seminars jointly with and under the auspices of POLO.

The seminar on Business Strategy for Small Enterprises is the last of a series of seminars conducted by Ofwins for the 2002-2003 season.

Earlier seminars included ABCs of Savings & Investment, Basics of Fixed Income Investing, Introduction to Stock Investment, and Business Planning & Project Feasibility Study.

The May 30 seminar will be open to Ofwins members and to all other interested parties on a first-come-first-served basis. After the seminar, Ofwins will hold a general assembly and election of new officers for the next 2-year term. Those attending the seminar are requested to confirm attendance not later than May 29.
