DAMMAM, 25 May 2003 — Living up to their reputation, the students of International Indian School, Dammam excelled in their Class X and Class XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.
The detailed results of the three schools — International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ); International Indian School, Riyadh (IISR) and International Indian School, Dammam (IISD) — show that, like last year, IISD has the best results.
However, the Riyadh school had the consolation of having the Kingdom’s Class X topper from its school — Romaan Jallu, with 96.2 percent. The Jubail school which has fewer students than the other three, did exceptionally well in the Class X examination. The results for Class XII were announced on Friday, while Class X results were announced yesterday morning.
An overall analysis of Class XII results showed that in Dammam, a total of 214 students appeared, out of which none failed and seven were in the compartment list. In Riyadh, 177 appeared and one failed, 27 in the compartment list, and in Jeddah 259 students appeared out of which 17 failed and 23 were in the compartment list. There were eight students in IISD who scored 90 percent and above while in IISR and IISJ none of the students got 90.
Bindhiya Thomas of IISD was first among the Indian students in the Kingdom with 93 percent, while Rajiv Paul came second with 92.2 percent and Prasob P.P. third with 92 percent.
In Class X examination, IISD students did exceptionally well and they ranked among the top five of all the schools affiliated to CBSE in India and abroad. In all, 421 students from IISD appeared in Class X and none of them failed with only nine compartments. Out of these, 24 students obtained 90 percent and above marks; 122 bagged between 80 percent and 89 percent; 50 students were between 75 percent and 79 percent, 58 students between 70 percent and 74 percent and the rest 165 students below 70 percent. Out of 24 students who bagged 90 percent or more marks, only two were boys and the rest 22 girls.
In comparison, a total of 338 students appeared from IISR out of which three failed and 34 were in compartment list, while in Jeddah 490 students appeared out of which eight failed and 60 were in compartment list. Jubail school performed much better than IISJ and IISR, though a mere 65 students appeared from there and out which none of them failed and only four were in the compartment. But there were eight students of Jubail school who scored 90 percent and above marks and 23 students between 80 percent and 89 percent.
Romaan Jallu of IISR topped in the Kingdom with 96.2 percent, while Kanika Singh of IISD stood second with 95.4 percent. Piyush Pratik of International Indian School, Jubail came third with 94.8 percent, Sruthi Chencherry Veetil (IISD) fourth with 93.8 percent, Shivangi Shukla (IIS Jubail) fifth with 93.6 percent, Renu Saira Koshy (IISD) with 93.4 percent and Vaibhav Kumar (IISR) sixth with 93.4, Kedar Vijay Bodas (IIS Jubail) seventh with 93.2 percent and Pooja Ghai (IISR) eighth with 92.2 percent.
IISD Chairman M. Farook congratulated the students, staff and Principal Muhammad Anwar for the excellent result and said that it was a three-dimensional effort. He hoped that the efforts and dedication of staff will continue in coming years to give best results. Principal Anwar said that he was proud of his students and his team members.
