JEDDAH, 6 June 2003 — Seiko-Butler beat Tetra Pak 63-60 in the Seiko-JBL Basketball Tournament at the Bin Mahfouz Sports Complex basketball court. With 2 minutes remaining in the final period, Tetra Pak applied man-to-man defense to contain the offense of Seiko-Butler. Seiko-Butler went to Arce for the final assault and won. Arce pumped 16 points for Seiko-Butler and was adjudged as the Al Hamrani Fuchs Petroleum best player of the game while Escosura top scored with 23 points for Tetra Pak.
United Naghi defeated Zahid Tractor 107-59. United Naghi caught Zahid Tractor on their off night. Nap Solis, Jun Soriano, Rey Bautista and Elmenzo scored double digits for United Naghi while Elmer Esguerra scored 20 points for Zahid Tractor. Seiko best players of the game was given to Soriano and Elmenzo who scored 22 points apiece. Rockets-Omar Bill escaped from a near defeat from Jologs 54-49. It was a sea-sawed battle up to the final buzzer. Rockets went to back door plays in their last offensive efforts while Jologs in their run and gun offense missed important jumpers. Custodio paced the Rockets with 12 points and was adjudged the Al Rabie Pulz best player of the game while Cesar scored 16 points for Jologs.In Friday games, Laguna Pizza beat M.T.T.S. 66-57.
Easy Life beat Masa Pest Control 78-58. Easy Life dominated the shaded area with their taller line-up. Masa Pest Control went to Talima and Talastas to keep the game at bay but Easy Life continued to control the game with their fast break plays. Jibrail Gonzales topscored with 17 points for Jeddah Palace Easy Life.
