MADINAH, 6 June 2003 — Saudi Oger lifted the 2nd MCA Saudi Airlines Cup by beating Sadafco in the final. The tournament was sponsored by Al-Dakheel Travel under the banner of Saudi Arabian Airlines and organized by Madinah Cricket Association.

Saudi Oger scored 270 runs in allotted 30 overs. Sadafco bowlers were treated harshly in the last 15 overs, being smashed for 157 runs. Manzoor after surviving twice in the early stages hit the ball all around the ground. With the help of nine boundaries and two sixes he scored 132 runs before falling to Ijaz. Shakeel Shah scored 32 while Irfan contributed 30 runs. Zahid Ali was the most successful bowler by taking four wickets. Ijaz took two wickets while Mustafa and Rauf Boota got one each.

Sadafco struggled in its reply as the match’s fortunes fluctuated until the 27th over when Sadafco needed 35 runs in last three over. However, the tailenders could not hold up the pressure and Sadafco players were all out for 248 runs.

Hammad played a very good innings of 63 runs. Abdul Rauf Boota supported his team by contributing 43 runs and Ijaz 38 runs. For Saudi Oger, Qadir bagged three wickets, Arshed two and Shakeel Shah two. Abdul Rehman and Azher took one each.
