After reading the article on the GCC power grid by M. Ghazanfar Ali Khan in Arab News, the GCC Interconnection Authority points out that the estimated cost of the project is $1,348.5 million (not $6 billion) and the estimated benefits $2,672 million (for Phase 1 only) and $3,341 million (total GCC Grid). The figures are all based on the 1990 study and are all in constant dollars (1990 prices). The error, if not corrected, may give the impression that the project is not feasible, since the project cost would be much higher than the benefits.
