Windows Server 2003, Microsoft’s newly released Windows server operating system, was successfully launched in the Kingdom last month with a roadshow that was attended by nearly 4,000 visitors during its tour of Alkhobar, Riyadh and Jeddah. The roadshow also introduced two other Microsoft products — the new 64-bit SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Edition and Visual Studio.Net 2003. “This roadshow was our biggest ever launch and one of the most successful that we have held in the Kingdom. We wish to thank our customers, partners and other IT professionals for turning up in such large numbers to support one of the year’s most important IT events,” said Bilal Sununu, general manager, Microsoft Arabia. “Globally, early-adopter customers are confirming that Windows Server 2003 is an outstanding performer and we are proud to introduce a product to the Kingdom that provides unprecedented value for businesses of all sizes.”
Attendance exceeded the highest expectations of the organizers Microsoft Arabia and their international partners HP, Intel and Citrix, who participated in the roadshow together with local Microsoft partners Arabic Computer Systems (ACS), New Horizons Training Centers and Zuhair Fayez Partnership (ZFP IT). The partner companies demonstrated their products, solutions and services around the newly launched Microsoft products.
“Events such as these are much more than product launches in as much as the demonstrations are organized to provide opportunities for our customers, partners and others of the Kingdom’s IT professionals to enhance their knowledge and extend their capabilities,” said Fahad Al-Sudairy, marketing group manager, Microsoft Arabia.
