RIYADH, 13 June 2003 — Manuel Calma of Kudu Co., Benjie Enriquez of the Zahran squad and Joseph Abasolo of the Pizza Hut starred in the Jeraisy Group of Companies Inter-Company (Bonafide) Basketball Tournament at the Jeraisy Staff Compound Basketball Court, Exit 7 — back of Al-Imam University, Riyadh.
Powerhouse Pizza Hut team trounced Al Jomaih group.
Al Jomaih through its key cagers Jeffrey Maldicas, Jay Amongol, Carlo Cunanan, Nixon Mantua and Regie Garcia found it hard to match the agility of Pizza Hut boyz Ronald Naperi, Ruel Tugade, Larry De Guzman, Edgar Pineda and Nante Garcia buckling without a fight to the Pizza makers 85-45.
Kudu team cagers won the expense of the Seder Services squad. Kudu, ahead by 14 points at the end of the first half, registered 20-point lead soon after and held on to win the match 67-60.
Zahran Co. downed Jeraisy’s second host team Jeraisy Group, who were at the driver’s seat during the early part of the game.
But their defense collapsed during the final quarter and the Zahran boys took this opportunity to change their game pattern.
Lanky Benjie Enriquez led the way and Ardamoy, Anton Castaloni, Choie Ordaneza and Dingdong Urrutia assisted to boost their team’s spreadsheet.
Michael Tamayo, Alex Cerro, Khalid Hamouri, Lito De Dios and Fernando Cuizon topscored for the Jeraisy team.
Golden Grass beat Jarir Bookstore 52-41. Al-Jomaih got the better of Dunkin Donuts. Ronald Solis, Dick Policarpio and Renato San Diego’s two-digit scores didn’t help their team as per the expection as the balanced distribution of cagers of Al-Jomaih’s coach paved the way for a 68-63 team score in their favor.
