JEDDAH, 13 June 2003 — The Hand to Hand Combat Aikido International, founded by Master Alex Aplacador, will have a belting promotion for deserving students and senseis at the Mushrifah District in July.

The martial arts training at Mushrifah was first initiated by Sensei Abedin Liwalug and Sensei Mansour Galapon, members of Ismmat Karate Team in 1994.

The training was set up as a form of indoor recreation and to help the students improve their health awareness, discipline and knowledge of self defense. Thus they were taught Shotokan Karate — Japanese style.

Two of their students, Brother Mustafa Legaspi and Ahmed Bargas, after training from Master Alex Aplacador and with the help of Brother Jainodin Manipis, a 3rd degree black belt in Shotokan, continued this martial arts training under the banner of Hand to Hand Combat Aikido International.

The HHCAI, with a chapter in Rabigh area under Sensei Ismail Ramirez, is teaching various forms of discipline: Hand to Hand Combat, Aikido, Karate, Sikaran, Judo, Arnis and Kung Fu. To enhance brotherhood among karatekas, the future scheme of HHCAI is to hold a tournament to showcase their prowess.

The HHCAI also inviting all martial arts afficionados who are interested to know more about the art of self-defense.
